THE CATCH-22 OF EXPECTING NICE THINGS FROM RICH PSYCHOPATHS

by Anatoly IVANOV

BIOLOGY / PSYCHOLOGY / SOCIETY / ESSAYS

If someone’s only definition of freedom is “I can do whatever I want if I have a lot of money” and they tend to Bask in Reflected Glory (BIRG) — they are easy prey to the psychopaths who convince them on some Freedom of Speech Platform™* that all that freedom and money will trickle down just by association.

Unfortunately, that kind of Freedom of Capital™ thinking emerges from hugely complex character traits — coping mechanisms developed to offset the DNA and class lottery — impossible to “correct” through training or “grinding”.

How do you break a self-reinforcing feedback loop of “I’ll follow and elect a psychopath to feel better at my 9 to 5 office job”?

Catch-22: a person capable of sublimating raw anger into consistent action planned a century forward is born smart, with Capital™ (family, nationality, language, culture), and the ability to discern a psychopath.

DNA-editing might be the only solution, but hey, that’s too rational and sounds boring… when we could be testing mid-range hypersonic weapons. On live subjects! Exciting! And psychotic.
