Isn’t it fascinating how the film “Limitless” by Neil Burger starring Bradley Cooper paints a dreamy picture of:
• a struggling artist
• an external solution to everything — a pill, stolen by the artist
• the artist uses the drug to pursue: 1) money 2) sex 3) political power
And abandons his art in the first quarter of the film?
In the end, the drug turns him into a senator running for president. A suit cut su mesura, US flag on the lapel, a corporate hairdo, fancy restaurants, dead bodies (lawfully paid off… to the lawyers).
He even gets to keep the girl… by impressing her with the way he speaks to the waiter (“How to Choose a Man”, played by the book).
Happy ending? A dream? Or a drama about what most of us _really_ want? To take from life and others… if they had “a pill”?
