Advertising sells. Editorial informs.
Coming from a background of painting, I define myself as an Artist. I prefer film, photography and prose as the media best suited for the realization of my artistic vision.
Art, in its purest, most idealistic form, serves no purpose or function. Therefore, I do not consider design and objective journalism as art forms.
However, I am an idealist in a realist world. I do exploit advertising and editorial use of cinema and photography to amplify my message and sustain my artistic research. And I specialize in opinionated, subjective press articles.
Watch some of my films. Browse through my photography portfolio, or rent an exhibition. Commission an essay on visual arts, or contact me for participation in a film festival, photography seminar, podcast or debate on the various aspects of art-making, from the ephemeral aesthetics to the nitty-gritty of film finance.
My personal artistic motive is to search for beauty, spirituality and harmony in everything I see. I have decided early on (aged 17) that my artistic contribution to the public is to communicate the beauty and variety of the world most people overlook. Yes, our inherent negativity bias is easier to sell. Our fascination for the violent, the macabre and the doom-scrolling? And yet, quixotic as it may sound, I resist and encourage a more elevated, attentive and spiritual understanding of reality. Find out the details about my artistic perspective in my artist statement.
