So, you’re convinced: eVENT is the best waterproof / breathable fabric at the moment. The finest money can buy. Well, in that case, you’re probably looking for an eVENT rain jacket. And, perhaps, you’re even looking for a lighter jacket. But you’re not minimalist enough (yet) to abandon the comfy brim and handy pockets.
Then the new Rab Momentum eVENT rain jacket may be just for you.

WHAT’S NEW AND INTERESTING?
Although not the lightest eVENT rain jacket on the market, the Rab Momentum jacket is still very light at 340 g (12 oz) in size large and does not skimp on features:
- fully protective, climbing helmet compatible hood with wired (!) peak and roll down tab
- 2 large pockets with water resistant zips and rain drains behind
- 2-way (!) water resistant front zip with internal storm flap and rain drain
I’d even say that’s a lot of features for a rain jacket. The 2-way front zipper is of course designed for the crazy UK climbers belaying in the rain…

No questions. No doubts.
The jacket looked great at the Rab’s booth during the Outdoor 2008 show in Friedrichshafen. Precise, attentive, detailed.
One day, you may eventually switch to a more minimal eVENT jacket, though.
