Gruyères castle

The castle of Gruyères, close to the Pre-Alps, 50km northeast of Lausanne, sits atop of a single crag rising above the rolling lowlands of Canton Fribourg. Its historical collection as well as its exhibitions and numerous activities boards the Museum of HR Giger, creator of the “Alien”. Gruyères gave its name to the region and to its delicious cheese.
