Born in Geneva, Switzerland, I first traveled through half of Europe at the age of 4 months with my parents. At the time, they worked as Russian translators at the United Nations Office in Geneva. By train, ship and plane, we went from Geneva via Venice, Dubrovnik, Athens, Istanbul and Odessa to arrive in Moscow. I have been traveling around the globe since.
My extensive travel experience and four languages (English, French, Russian and basics of German) enable me to organize projects in any part of the world, quickly and efficiently.
Moreover, being an avid backpacker and climber, I can get to any remote area or peak that can be walked to or climbed on. In any season.
I lived in Russia for 15 years. I am based in Paris since 1997. I have spent years of taking pictures, trail running, backpacking, climbing or just wandering around Switzerland, Germany, Holland and Italy. I perfectly understand the countries’ culture and traditions, know the intricacies of their infrastructures and have a precise idea of the locations.
These are the countries I have traveled and stayed in countless times:
For more than half of the year, I am based in Paris, France.
In summer and winter, I often operate from Geneva, Switzerland, a perfect platform for most of the Alps.
France, UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain are in the radius of 6 hours by train from Paris. Scandinavia and Eastern Europe are close by. Even Moscow is only 4 hours away by plane.
Sketch map showing approximate journey times by train from Paris to the rest of western Europe. Drawn by Bob Tubbs, based on queries to the SNCF web site. Fly times by plane from Paris are even shorter.
These are the countries I can fly to tomorrow and immediately start working on your project. I have been to quite a good part of them at least twice.
