Digital retouching : process

At SYLIPSI, we understand that every project and every client are different, so we refuse to squeeze you in a rigid system. Rather, we apply a simple and flexible process that we fine-tune to each project.

1. Analysis and consulting

At this preliminary stage, we stay at listener's end to understand clearly your goals and objectives.

You can have an exact vision of the work to be done or just a general idea of the final result.

In the first case, after understanding your requirements, we immediately start working on your original.

In the second case, we first draw upon our expertise in digital retouching and photography to consult and advise you. The solution could be as simple as to restore a damaged original and work the color or as complex as to make a photomontage composed of a multitude of images created specifically for the project.

In both cases, at this stage we translate your needs and our solutions into a finished product with scrupulous budget planning, scope definition and scheduling.

2. Scanning

If it is not done already, at this stage we scan your originals (opaque and transparent, up to A3 size) on a high-resolution prepress scanner Heidelberg Topaz, as to get the maximum from the original right from the start and build a good base for your project.

3. Retouching / photomontage

At this stage, we carry out the retouching or photomontage according to your objectives.

4. Refinement

This is done with you to further refine the obtained results.

4. Proof output / saving

Once the images are perfect, we make print proofs on ink-jet photo paper (Epson Photo 1200 printer) or on traditional photo paper (Fuji Pictography 4000). We provide you with image files on CD-ROM.

Often, however, this does not stop there. Your project could need to be integrated in a print design or be published on-line. Because SYLIPSI offers a large gamut of services, you can be confident to find the right solution in one place.
