Anthony Suau went to the Soviet Union for the first time in August 1991, a country that as an American he first heard of as the Evil Empire. It captured him, and three years later he took up his second residence in Moscow. He traveled throughout the Russian provinces and witnessed wars, crisis and putsches, as well as the daily life of the people who had to find their way in these new times. His photos have become an unparalleled testimony of the upheavals and changes.
Beyond the Fall is the title of the Paris/Moscow based photographer.
The exhibition contains 120 photographs from the time of the upheavals 1989-1999 in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. At the same time; four additional exhibitions will have been organized in Washington, Milan, and Moscow.
